So today I had an audition at The Royal College of Music in London, I want to study for a BMus there with piano as my main instrument. If I get in I will start in September 2017 which will be great. The audition was pretty stressful for me, not because the people at RCM aren’t nice, because they really are, but because I really want to get in there.

There are two auditions, if you do OK in the first one then you can go to the second. I made a couple of small mistakes in the first one but I was asked to go to the second audition so I think it went OK.

I spoke to a couple of other pianists who were also auditioning today, seems like they are all very good, hope I can get in…

I received an amazing piece of music in the post today. ‘Visions on the Wind’ was written for me by the composer Jonathan Östlund. This is a real honour for me. I am looking forward to performing it soon. You can find out more about Jonathan and his music here.

I will be performing later this year at the Stars on Baikal Music Festival in Irkutsk, Russia. this is a festival which is held each year in August and features some of the best Russian and International musicians. The Artistic Director is the pianist Denis Matsuev, previous performers include the conductor Vladimir Spivakov, the opera singer Elena Obraztsova and Denis Matsuev.

I will perform a solo recital as well as Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1. This will be a great concert so I am looking forward to performing there. A huge thank you to Maestro Denis Matsuev for making this happen for me, it will be great to be back in Russia again!
