Today I received the news that I have been selected to take part in the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow next month. I feel very honoured to have been accepted for the competition as there were over 1200 applications worldwide and only 25 pianists were chosen to take part. (…and only one from UK!)
Really looking forward to the event as it is, in my opinion, the most prestigious of all the music competitions.

I thought you had a good chance of winning the Tchaikovsky competition. I couldn’t wait to see you play in the first round, and you played beautifully and with great emotion. I loved your performance! I watched you play LIVE on the Russian webcast, tch1616.medici.tv. The videography was superb with many close-ups of your facial expressions and close-ups of your hands. I was very disappointed you didn’t get to the second round, but to be invited to play at age 18 is a great honor in itself. You did Great. You should be proud of yourself.
I only discovered you on youtube about 3 weeks ago. After watching you at age 11, 13, 15, 16, 17 and playing with the Argentina orchestra (a great performance and your backstage chat was delightful) I knew right away that you would be a great concert pianist (even before I found out you already are!).
I was thrilled to learn you had been invited to compete in the Tchaikovsky competition, A Great Honor just to be invited. I have already contacted the conductor of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra in Dayton, Ohio, Neal Gittleman, to recommend you as a guest pianist. In 2012, The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance was formed as an innovative merger of the Dayton Philharmonic, Dayton Ballet, and Dayton Opera. This alliance is unique in the United States, emulating the model of highly successful European performing arts organizations. We have a world-class Schuster Performing Arts Center, designed by Argentine-American Cesar Pelli and built in 2003. It seats 2300.
The Dayton Philharmonic usually performs the same program on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I suspect you will soon be invited to play at Carnegie Hall and, perhaps, you can come to Dayton to play before or after playing in New York. By air, Dayton is just 2 hour away from New York, about 880 KM (about 550 miles).
How would the Dayton Philharmonic go about scheduling you as a guest artist?
It would be great to see you play your planned “Second Round” and your planned “Final Round.” That is something I hope you do. You could put it on YouTube or you could record and sell a DVD of those performances.
